
Chase Swimming Club has existed from the mid to late 1970’s and was originally known as Cannock Chase Swimming Club, training at Cannock leisure centre.
Following the addition of sessions at the newly constructed Cheslyn Hay Leisure Centre in 1987 the Club renamed as CHASE SWIMMING CLUB as it is known today.
At its inception Chair John Hickman appointed Len Robinson as the clubs first Head Coach. Following Lens departure in 1984 Chase had a very successful period under Keith Selvey, who was head coach until1995.
Keith was followed by Carl Flynn who took the helm for just over a year.
In 1997 following a highly successful 6 years as Junior Coach, John Hickman appointed Paul Grainger as Head Coach until his retirement in 2022.
Over the years Chase Swimming Club have progressively strengthened their competitiveness in the Premier Divisions of Junior, Staffordshire and National Arena Leagues and achieved a record 54 County swimmers and 27 Regional Swimmers in 2019 as well as numerous National swimmers.
Initially Chase’s colours were Red and Black, but changed to the familiar Yellow and Green club colours in 1999. Chase have recently revamped their colours and branding that you will see in the kit and on the website.
